Everything You Need to Know About Microsoft Office 2019 RTM

As promised Microsoft has officially announced the availability of the final version its Office 2019 release for Windows and Mac users. After producing a preview version in the first half of this year, the product has been finalized and is being made available first to enterprise customers with consumer editions available soon after. As is the tradition, Office 2019 includes updated versions of apps from the suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access and Publisher. Notably absent is OneNote which has been moved from Office to Windows 10.

Microsoft is ending support for Windows 7 and Office 2010

The Redmond software giant is ending support for two of its most popular products ever - Windows 7 and Office 2010. Both can be considered classic software and they are widely used by users all over the world. On January 14, 2020, Microsoft will terminate support for Windows 7. On October 13, 2020, Office 2010 will stop receiving updates as well.

Microsoft announces Office 2019 Preview for commercial customers

Microsoft has announced Office 2019 Commercial Preview, which includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher, Access, Project, Visio and OneNote for Windows 10. The Redmond software giant is also about to release preview versions of Office 2019 for Mac, Exchange 2019, SharePoint 2019, Project Server 2019, and Skype for Business 2019 soon. Office 2019 targets enterprise customers which are not ready for cloud solutions like Office 365.

Microsoft is killing the classic OneNote desktop app

With the release of Office 2019 later this year, Microsoft will kill its desktop OneNote app. As you may know, there are desktop and UWP (Universal Windows Platform) versions available, but OneNote for Windows 10 (the Store app) will survive.
