Fixes

  • Taskbar: Fixed an issue that caused the taskbar to appear with a delay after startup and first login.
  • Search: Fixed an issue where, when trying to open Search, the window would open and then immediately close if the taskbar was almost completely filled with application icons.

For all insiders in the Beta channel

New notification icons for Widgets

The new icons serve as notifications, alerting users to any missed important notifications. As depicted in the example, a specific icon displays the presence of three missed notifications, ensuring that users are promptly informed about their pending alerts.

Once users access the Widgets panel, they will discover that the notification details are conveniently placed in the top left corner. This location ensures vital information is easily accessible to users when they engage with the widget panel.

Note. Microsoft has started rolling out the feature to some Insiders in the Beta channel. Microsoft wants to gather feedback from a small group of users before the change is rolled out to all Insiders.

Changes and improvements

  • Widgets: Made some improvements to prevent taskbar icons from appearing pixelated or blurry.

Known Issues

Users of Microsoft Defender Application Guard (MDAG) for Microsoft Edge may experience no network connectivity when browsing web pages in MDAG. In this case, you must disable MDAG enterprise policy or uninstall MDAG under Turn Windows features on or off and restart your computer. MDAG for Edge is a deprecated feature. You'll find the full list of deprecated features in Windows 23H2 here.
