Vivaldi 2.2 Build 1386.4: New Quick Commands and Keyboard Shortcuts

Vivaldi Snapshot Icon Modern

The team behind the most innovative Vivaldi browser released a new snapshot of the upcoming version of the app. Vivaldi 2.2.1386.4 will allow you to access closed tabs with Quick Commands, and assign keyboard shortcuts to them. Also, the status bar is now customizable.

Vivaldi was started with the promise of giving you a highly customizable, full-featured, innovative browser. It looks like its developers kept their promise - there is no other browser on the market which offers the same amount of options and features. While Vivaldi is built on Chrome's engine, power users are the target user base, like the classic Opera 12 browser. Vivaldi was created by former Opera co-founder and developed keeping in mind Opera's usability and power.

Today's build adds extra Quick Commands. You can now access your closed tabs, and show access keys on websites that support them (e.g. Wikipedia). If you prefer keyboard shortcuts, you can assign them to these new actions too. In addition, developers continue to improve the customizable toolbars, so the status bar can be tweaked starting in Vivaldi 2.2 Build 1386.4.

Known issues:

  • All navigation buttons on the address toolbar might be lost after upgrade: Reset from settings-appearance to get them back
  • Autoupdate is disabled because of the above. You need to download manually if you want to try this build
