This concept from Dell shows how Copilot can manage Windows settings

Microsoft is reportedly working on a new version of artificial intelligence in Copilot for Windows. It can take the user experience with Windows 11 to the next level, allowing you to perform advanced actions and change system settings. Dell showcased a potential preview of the technology.

In a future Windows 11 release, the Microsoft Copilot AI is expected to identify issues within the system or applications and attempt to resolve them automatically. For instance, if an application encounters a Wi-Fi connectivity problem, the AI might attempt to adjust network settings or initiate a troubleshooting process to independently seek a resolution.

In addition, it will allow you to change global device's options with your voice. For example, you will be able to simply tell the Copilot to make your PC run faster, and it will optimize the appropriate settings automatically. It will provide you with extra details, e.g. how the settings affect battery life.

Furthermore, Dell anticipates that the next generation of AI in Windows 11 will aim to adapt settings based on the user's location and environment. For example, when it detects the use of a public network at an airport, it may activate battery-saving features and enhance Wi-Fi security.

Additionally, users could utilize voice commands to direct Copilot to adjust the trackpad's brightness, or prompt video editing software to activate performance mode.

These concepts were developed by Dell following discussions with Microsoft. It is expected that Windows Copilot will undergo a significant update as part of Windows Hudson Valley in 2024.

Copilot AI came out of preview and became available to the public in December.  Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella once noted that it is as important as the Start button, and can serve as your starting point to explore the OS, apps, and the Internet.
