Skype for Windows 10 Reaches the Stable branch

After a year of active development, Microsoft has rolled out the first stable version of the Skype UWP app for Windows 10. The new app version comes without a Preview tag. Here is what has changed in this new version.

Skype UWP app version 11.13.115.0 features the following changes:

  • Skype UWP can use the contact list stored in Windows 10. This ability is implemented as a regular permission in Settings which can be turned on or off there.
  • Now it is possible to search in all your Skype chats for a certain message.
  • The support for Skype SMS.
  • A number of new keyboard shortcuts.
  • The ability to switch your microphone, camera during the call.
  • The ability to transfer the call to a new device running Skype.
  • A revamped group video call user interface.

Interested users can install the Skype UWP app from the Windows Store.
