Microsoft 365 Copilot for Business with cost $30 per user

During the Inspire 2023 event, Microsoft announced that enterprise customers with Microsoft 365 E3, E5, Business Standard, and Business Premium licenses will be able to subscribe to Microsoft 365 Copilot for $30 per month per user.

Microsoft 365 Copilot uses generative AI to create text content based on user requests. For example, in Word, the function will help with writing a report on a specific topic and formatting the document, in Excel it will suggest formulas based on the available data, and in Outlook it will write a detailed response to an email.

The cost of Microsoft 365 Copilot is significantly higher than the current Microsoft 365 plans. Presently, Microsoft charges companies $36 per user per month for Microsoft 365 E3, which provides access to Office apps, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and various other productivity features. For businesses that require AI-powered features, subscribing to Microsoft 365 Copilot will incur an additional $30 premium, almost doubling the cost of their E3 subscription. For Microsoft 365 Business Standard, the increase is nearly threefold as it costs $12.50 per user per month.

It is expected that the service will leave the testing stage at the end of this year, but the exact timing is still unknown. More than 600 companies around the world are participating in Microsoft 365 Copilot testing. According to Microsoft, many employees believe that generative AI will not take away their work, but will become a good assistant in solving the tasks.
