Clippy returns with the power of ChatGPT: a third-party developer has revived it

Developers behind the Fire Cube Studios company have reintroduced Clippy, the iconic virtual assistant, to Windows 10 and Windows 11. This new version of Clippy is built on top of the GPT 3.5 model developed by OpenAI, and the project's source code is openly available on GitHub.

Originally introduced by Microsoft in 1997, Clippy quickly became a recognizable symbol of Microsoft Office software. However, the project was discontinued in 2005, and Clippy was subsequently removed from all apps. Microsoft has expressed plans to revive the assistant but has yet to announce a specific release date.

The developers at Fire Cube Studios have created their own version of Clippy, leveraging the power of the GPT 3.5 model. This virtual assistant can answer user queries, provide Windows usage tips, and assist with various work and daily tasks. Clippy is currently compatible with Windows 10 and 11 machines, requiring an OpenAI token for operation.

So, the project's source code is openly accessible on GitHub. Users can install the ready-to-use Clippy app from the Microsoft Store. Fire Cube Studios intends to enhance Clippy's capabilities over time and integrate additional features from ChatGPT into the assistant.
