Windows 11 Build 25931 (Canary) is rolling out to Insiders with ISO images

Microsoft is releasing Windows 11 Build 25931 to Insiders in the Canary channel. It includes several new features ported from Dev channel builds. The new features include a new procedure of domain controller detection, more apps that you can easily uninstall, an improved Details pane in File Explorer, and more. Finally, ISO images for this build are also available, so you clean install it on demand.

What's new in Windows 11 Build 25931 (Canary)

  • More new features from Dev channel:Unicode Emoji 15 support, voice access is available to use on more areas in Windows such as the Lock screen, and more.
  • Uninstall more apps: You can now uninstall the Photos app, People app, and Remote Desktop (MSTSC) client. Earlier, Microsoft allowed to remove Cortana and Camera.
  • Insider Preview Build Expiration: The expiration date for Insider Preview builds flighted to the Canary Channel has been updated to 9/15/2024.
  • File Explorer: The Details pane can now show image dimensions, page number for docx files, space used and free information for drives, and more.
  • You can now instantly sync your Windows accent color with the devices around you with the “Match my Windows accent color” toggle under “Effects” for Dynamic Lighting via Settings > Personalization > Dynamic Lighting.
  • Windows Spotlight is now enabled by default.
  • Fix: Fixed a major issue where you could no longer connect over SMB to a third-party storage device using guest (no username or password) credentials.
  • Domain controller (DC) locator: Due to deprecation of Windows Internet Name Service (WINS) and Remote Mailslots, the DC locator service now uses a different algorithm to find domain controllers. You can learn more about this changes here.
