Changes and improvements

Taskbar and system tray

    • The simplified system tray, where the date and time are displayed in abbreviated form, has been temporarily disabled to fix several issues. The feature began rolling out in build 22635.4010.

File Explorer

    • A change has been made so that when you open folders from outside of File Explorer (such as from an app or the desktop), they will open in a new tab by default if you already have a File Explorer window open. If you want folders to still open in a new window, you can change the behavior in Folder Options > Browse for Folders.
    • If the option "Restore previous folder windows at sign-in" is enabled in Explorer, the system will now restore all additional tabs that were open in each Explorer window. The logic of the setting "Automatically save my restartable apps from the system and restart them when I sign in again" in the section "Settings" > "Accounts" > "Sign-in options" has also been updated. When this setting is enabled, the option for Explorer will be automatically enabled.
    • A new option has been added to delay or disable the "Start backup" reminder in the Explorer address bar, which will be useful for those users who do not create backup copies of the Documents, Pictures, or Desktop libraries. To disable the reminder, right-click on the phrase "Start backup".

Fixes

Input

    • Fixed an issue for Pinyin IME users where switching between windows (such as using the shortcut ) could cause the IME to switch from Chinese to English.ALT + Tab

For all insiders

Fixes

Other

    • Fixed an issue where some devices, such as hearing aids, would not stream audio over Bluetooth LE.
    • Fixed an issue where Windows would stop responding when using a USB printer over the IPP protocol.
    • Fixed an issue where Windows would not activate after replacing the motherboard.
    • Updated Country and Operator Settings Asset (COSA) profiles for some mobile operators.

Microsoft Store Update

Microsoft has released an update to the Microsoft Store app (version 22411.1401.xx) to Windows Insiders across all channels.

The Microsoft Store now lets you update some Win32 apps through the store, even if they are distributed and updated by their developers. Previously, updates for these apps had to be installed separately. Windows Insiders will be able to find available updates on the Downloads page by clicking the Get updates button. If updates are available for installed apps of this type, they will appear in the list. You can install the updates by clicking the appropriate button. Automatic installation is not provided.

The update button is also available on app pages in the Microsoft Store.

Oooooh, finally! Tabs were almost useless without this feature.
