Users of these Windows 11 versions are advised to install something more recent. Currently, Microsoft widely supports two editions of the OS.

Windows 11 version 23H2 is considered the most stable, and will be supported until November 2025. Microsoft released it back in September 2023. There will be an extra year of support for customers. It is the most polished Windows 11 version as of now. You can learn more about it here: What’s new in Windows 11 23H2. Over time, it received a "Moment 5" update that adds a few more new features.

Windows 11 version 24H2 is the newest release of this fall. It includes a number of exclusive AI features and a huge list of improvements. It is a major upgrade and not an enablement package. It doesn't directly share the core files with version 23H2. When you install it, it performs the full build upgrade. If AI is not your thing, still you may find useful native support for creating 7z and RAR archives, more customizable taskbar, the addition of the SUDO for Windows app, and more. However, keep in mind that there are upgrade blocking issues. Even more, there are a number of features that have been removed in 24H2. E.g. you will not find WordPad, Steps Recorder, or WMIC, among several other apps and options.

Microsoft is going to support Windows 11 version 24H2 until October 13, 2026 for consumers, and until October 17, 2026 for customers.
