Windows 10 Build 19045.4955 hits Beta and Release Preview channels with fixes

Microsoft has released a new preview of Windows 10, Build 19045.4955 (KB5043131) for Windows Insider program participants in the Beta and Release Preview channels. The update is notable for several fixes. The company also claims that the Beta channel will be used for testing new features, however, those aren't included in KB5043131.

The changes are as follows.

Microsoft Entra Single Sign-On (SSO)

The single sign-on notification required by the European Digital Market Act (DMA) was appearing too frequently. This happens when authenticating with a certificate. For more information, see Upcoming changes to Windows single sign-on .

IE mode

Microsoft Edge would occasionally become unresponsive when using Internet Explorer mode.

Country and Operator Settings Asset

Updated Country and Operator Settings Asset (COSA) profiles for some mobile operators.

Multimedia playback

Playback of some media files may stop when using some surround sound technologies.

File Explorer and taskbar

Windows Server may stop responding when using applications such as File Explorer and the taskbar.

Windows Update

Notifications about the availability of new updates will now be displayed when you sign in.

Listing directories

In some cases, a crash could occur if the directory contained symbolic links with long target names.
