Two more hidden features in Windows 10 build 18912

Besides the hidden 'Calendar Quick Compose' feature and new delivery optimization options, Windows 10 build 18912 includes a set of new notification options and a predicative text input feature. As you could expect, they are also hidden.

The first feature allows the user to tweak how notifications are displayed in Windows 10. The change affects both System > Notification and actions and Autoplay pages. This is a new check box that allows disable sounds for all notifications at once. Also, it is now possible to arrange notification senders by 'Most recent' and 'Name'.

The updated Autoplay page now includes samples of what the settings do. It looks as follows.

Interested users can try to unlock them using the mach2 tool. According to the author of the app, Rafael Riveramach2 is a third-party tool that manages the Feature Store, a core component of Feature Control, where these switches live. It can display which features are enabled or disabled on a machine. It can also assist with the discovery of interesting features to flip on and off.

Force Enable New Notification Settings in Windows 10

  1. Download the mach2 tool from its official GitHub page. To find which version you need, see the article How to determine if you are running 32-bit Windows or 64-bit.
  2.  Extract the ZIP archive to any folder you want. For example, you can extract it to the folder c:\mach2.Windows 10 Mach2 Archive
  3. Open a new command prompt as Administrator.
  4. Go to the folder that contains your copy of the mach2 tool. E.g.
    cd /d c:\mach2
  5. Type the following command: mach2 enable 19654704.
  6. Restart the OS.

Predictive text

Yet another hidden feature is predicative text input. When enabled, it can 'guess' the next word, so you can insert it with a single key stroke. It works in any app.

Predicative Text

To enable this feature with mach2, use the following list if IDs.

The upcoming 20H1 release of Windows 10 looks very interesting and promising. However, these new feature can be postponed or excluded from the final release.

The ‘Predictive Text’ feature is riddled with bugs of some sort! Annoying as heck!!!
Had to disable that one right quick!
