Microsoft May Kill File History in Windows 10 Fall Creators Update

Windows 10 comes with a built-in backup system called "File History". It allows the user to create a backup copy of files stored on your PC. There are a number of use cases for this feature. For example, it can help you to transfer your files from an old PC to a new one. Or you can use it to backup your files to an external removable drive. It looks like Microsoft is going to remove File History in the upcoming Windows 10 Fall Creators Update.

Working Control Center is spotted in Windows 10 Build 16212

As you may remember, when Windows 10 build 16199 was released, Microsoft accidentally showed a different user interface for changing commonly accessed settings. The feature is known as Control Center. A working Control Center is spotted in Windows 10 Build 16212, which has been accidentally released to some Insider PCs.

Control Center is coming to Windows 10

On the page announcing Windows 10 build 16199, Microsoft accidentally showed a different user interface for changing commonly accessed settings. While the screenshot was immediately removed from the announcement page and the feature is not enabled in the released build, some sharp-eyed observers were able to spot the change and save the screenshot. Windows 10 Redstone 3 will arrive in September 2017

Microsoft has already released a bunch of preview builds for the next major Windows 10 update (codenamed Redstone 3) to Windows Insider Program members. They are now actively working on adding new features as well as those features which were postponed from previous releases. This includes the Project Neon system-wide redesign and the MyPeople bar. Windows 10 MyPeople feature has been found in Insider Preview build 16170

Last week, Microsoft released the first Windows 10 Insider Preview build (16170) from the Redstone 3 development branch. After spending some time with the new build, some people noticed there are hidden and disabled options in it, including the MyPeople feature which was first introduced back in October 2016 and was later cut from Windows 10 Creators Update. The feature is working in this build as expected and almost fits all the scenarios shown by Microsoft officials during its first demo. It has some rough edges and the user experience is a bit ambiguous, which has possibly been the reason for its removal from Creators Update. Office App Tiles with Store Links in Windows 10 Redstone 3

As you may already know, Microsoft released Windows 10 Build 16170 to the Fast Ring of updates for the Windows Insider program. While this build doesn't come with new features, an interesting change can be spotted right in the Start menu.
