Samsung prepares three new apps for Windows 10

In addition to several neat features available exclusively for Samsung phones in the Your Phone app, Samsung prepares additional apps for Windows 10 devices. Aggiornamenti Lumia spotted  three upcoming apps on Microsoft Store from the Korean smartphone manufacturer: Samsung Free, Quick Share, and Samsung O.

Samsung Free

Samsung Free allows users to browse TV channels and shows from Samsung TV Plus, read news from different sources, and play free games that do not require any download. Samsung Free is formerly known as Samsung Daily, which is available on Samsung smartphones with One UI 3.0 update or newer. Soon, this service will be available on Windows 10 as well.

Quick Share

Quick Share is an app for transferring files between smartphones and computers using Wi-Fi Direct or Bluetooth. It supports Windows 10 and Samsung smartphones with One UI 2.0 or newer. Consider it Samsung’s variant of AirDrop for Android and Windows 10.

Samsung O

As for Samsung O, it is unclear what the app does. The current version of the software comes with a splash screen that is identical to the Samsung Free but with a “Samsung O is coming soon” message. Aggiornamenti Lumia claims this app will debut alongside Samsung Free and Quick Share, but there is no information on what Samsung O means, nor when these apps will be available for all users.

Samsung Free, Quick Share, and Samsung O apps may be only available on Samsung laptops and tablets with Windows 10, but Samsung might also release them for all Windows 10 computers. Because of no official confirmation from Samsung, consider this information purely speculative.
