Opera 53: Improvements to Tabs Appearance

Today, the team behind the Opera browser released a new developer version of their product. A new developer version 53.0.2900.0 of Opera is now available for download. It features are number of changes made to the user interface of tab row and the address bar.

Recently, for Mac users, it’s been difficult to find and manage a particular tab when many of them are open. Developers figured out a way to optimize this and make icons of the opened tabs remain visible. The following animations demonstrates the changes in action.

Clicking on a tab will expand it to make it easier to manage.

Finally, the address bar now features some brighter colors.

Other interesting changes include:

  • Chromium was updated to version 66.0.3355.4
  • Windows 10 bug with an empty pop-up when text is selected by a touch screen was fixed
  • Opera will install on Ubuntu 18.04, Bionic
  • Touch bar is fixed (macOS)
  • Missing translations added
