Microsoft Releases Security Updates for Windows 10

Microsoft today released the December security updates to provide additional protections against malicious attackers. Here are the patches that are out and their change log.



The released patches are:

Windows 10, version 1903 and 1909, KB4530684 (OS Builds 18362.535 and 18363.535)

  • Addresses an issue that might cause error 0x3B in cldflt.sys on some devices.
  • Addresses an issue that might prevent you from creating a local user account using the Input Method Editor (IME) for Chinese, Japanese, or Korean languages. This issue occurs when setting up a new Windows device during the Out of Box Experience (OOBE).
  • Security updates to Windows Virtualization, Windows Kernel, the Microsoft Scripting Engine, and Windows Server.

Windows 10, version 1809, KB4530715 (OS Build 17763.914)

  • Addresses an issue with diagnostic data processing when a device has the Diagnostic data setting enabled and set to Basic.
  • Addresses an issue in which the Microsoft Store might fail to open on Windows on Arm.
  • Security updates to Windows Virtualization, Windows Kernel, Windows Peripherals, the Microsoft Scripting Engine, and Windows Server.

Windows 10, version 1803, KB4530717 (OS Build 17134.1184)

Windows 10, version 1709, KB4530714 (OS Build 16299.1565)

  • Addresses an issue in which the Microsoft Store might fail to open on Windows on Arm.
  • Security updates to Windows Virtualization, Windows Kernel, Windows Peripherals, the Microsoft Scripting Engine, and Windows Server.

Windows 10, version 1703, KB4530711 (OS Build 15063.2224)

  • Addresses an issue with evaluating the compatibility status of the Windows ecosystem to help ensure application and device compatibility for all updates to Windows.
  • Security updates to Windows Virtualization, Windows Kernel, Windows Peripherals, the Microsoft Scripting Engine, and Windows Server.

Windows 10, version 1607, KB4530689 (OS Build 14393.3384)

  • Security updates to Windows Server, Windows Peripherals, Windows Kernel, Windows Virtualization, the Microsoft Scripting Engine, and Windows Input and Composition.

Windows 10, initial version, KB4530681 (OS Build 10240.18427)

  • Security updates to Windows Virtualization, Windows Kernel, Windows Peripherals, the Microsoft Scripting Engine, and Windows Server.

To download these updates, open Settings - > Update &recovery and click on the Check for Updates button on the right.
