If you wanted to upgrade your device to the latest Windows 11 22H2, but your device coulnd't get it due to an upgrade block or compatibility issues, you should try right now. Microsoft has resolved two major bugs in the OS. One of them was related to printing, and another one was related to game performance.

The first bug was causing printers that use Microsoft IPP Class Driver or Universal Print Class Driver only work with default settings. Any advanced option, including colors, orientation, toner options and others could remain hidden or inaccessible.

The company earlier enabled a safeguard hold for devices with such printers connected, so they could not see the Windows 11 version 22H2 upgrade offer.

The Windows Health Dashboard website now says that the bug is finally fixed, so users with such printers can finally get the latest Windows 11 release.

Any printer still affected by this issue should now get resolved automatically during upgrade to Windows 11, version 22H2.

The other bug that caused some games and apps might experience lower than expected performance or stuttering. Similarly, Microsoft was using a compatibility hold for affected devices. The issue is now resolved too. However, there is still a small subset of games and apps that remain affected by the bug.

The safeguard hold with the safeguard ID of 41990091 has been updated to only safeguard Windows devices which have one of the small subset of games and apps which are still affected by this issue.

To find if your device is allowed to receive Windows 11 22H2, open the Settings app, and navigate to the Windows Update page. There, click the check button. If you are lucky enough, you will see the latest OS in the list of available updates.

There are still unresolved bugs in Windows 11 version 22H2. The most recent one affects Remote Desktop users in a negative way.
