Xbox Cloud Gaming, formerly Project xCloud, continues expanding to more markets and regions. On the official Xbox News website, Microsoft announced the launch of Xbox Cloud Gaming in four more countries: Australia, Mexico, Brazil, and Japan.
Xbox Cloud Gaming launches in Brazil and Mexico later today. Users in Australia and Japan will get access to the service on October 1, 2021. With the latest addition, Xbox Cloud Gaming is now available in 26 countries across five continents.
To access Xbox Cloud Gaming, you need to subscribe to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. It lets you play more than a hundred games without purchasing them, which means users can start playing without spending much money. It is also worth mentioning that Microsoft uses Xbox Series X hardware to run cloud games, which means users can access next-gen games without buying actual consoles.
You can play cloud games using any modern device. Xbox Cloud Gaming supports Android smartphones and tablets, iPhones, iPads, and Windows PCs. To get the best experience possible, Microsoft recommends connecting a compatible controller to a host device. Still, many games in the catalog now support touch-based controls, and Microsoft continuously adds optimizations for more titles.
Keep in mind that Xbox Cloud Gaming is still in beta, which means the service might have some room for improvements. Also, your gaming quality depends on the speed and reliability of your Internet connection. Microsoft recommends 5Ghz Wi-Fi or mobile data connection with 10Mbps down or better.
