Edge Dev 102.0.1220.1 comes with UI improvements and password import on Android

Microsoft today issued its weekly update for the Edge browser in the Dev channel. The release includes a few new features along with a number of fixes and general improvements. The new features include a redesigned Apps page, a prompt to pin PWAs installed from the Store, and a few more.

But the most important change is the ability to import passwords in Edge on Android. The official change log mentions the following new features and improvements.

New features

  • Added a prompt to pin PWAs after they’ve been installed from the Microsoft Store.
  • Redesigned the Apps management page.
  • Added the ability to import passwords on mobile.
  • Added a management policy to control if the Outlook Hub Menu is Enabled. Note that updates to documentation and administrative templates may not have occurred yet.

Important fixes

  • Fixed a crash when using 2-factor authentication to sign into the browser.
  • Fixed a crash on Android.
  • Fixed a crash on Android when using the search widget.
  • Fixed an issue where the tab bar sometimes disappears.
  • Fixed an issue where the Find bar shows 0 matches even though there are related matches shown on the page.
  • Fixed an issue where the window control buttons are sometimes invisible when certain themes are applied.
  • Fixed an issue where background tabs are sometimes invisible when certain themes are applied.

Finally, the release comes with a number of known issues. The one you may easily run into are glitches on YouTube with ad blocker extensions enabled. As a workaround, you need to temporarily disable the ad blocker to get the smooth playback.

Existing Edge Dev users will get this update automatically. To speed up the process, open the menu (Alt+F), and head over Help > About Microsoft Edge. By opening this item you'll make it check for updates and install the most recent release.
