Windows 11 Build 22538 released to the Dev channel

A new build hits the Dev Channel. Windows 11 Build 22538 comes with a pack of good fixes, along with a number of new features. To name a few, there are the weather in the taskbar available to all Insiders. Also, Alt + Tab has got a nice visual refinement, and Voice access now supports the touch keyboard.

Despite Microsoft’s acquisition, Activision Blizzard will still release games for the PlayStation

Today, Microsoft announced its intention to acquire Activision Blizzard for $68.7 billion. The deal is set to close somewhere between July 2022 and June 2023. Obviously, the acquisition will require approval from both the boards of directors of both companies and from regulatory authorities.

Third party Widget support is already on the way to Windows 11

Windows 11 is likely to get support for third-party widgets pretty soon. The widget panel is one of the major innovations in Windows 11. But its current set of features is very limited. It only supports widgets made by Microsoft. Currently, the panel can only display the weather forecast, traffic information, as well as the Outlook calendar, photos and to-do list from Microsoft To-Do. However, the situation may change soon.

January 2022 Patch Tuesday caused issues with VPN connections

This week, Microsoft released monthly cumulative and security updates for all supported Windows versions. The updates resolve a number vulnerabilities and fix several bugs. However, something went wrong, as consumers are now having issues with VPN after installing the updates. Also, there are domain controller boot loops on Windows Server.

Windows 11 Generic Keys for All Editions

The Windows 11 generic keys are technically default keys that allows you to install the OS without activation. They don't provide you with a licensed copy, but are great for testing new builds. If Windows 11 refuses to install without a product key, or installs a wrong edition, you can specify the appropriate generic key.
