This week’s Patch Tuesday breaks Mobile Hotspot in all Windows versions

This week's patches are what users have been waiting for with high expectations. Finally Microsoft brought Desktop Spotlight into the production version of Windows 11 as a stable "B" update (not optional). However, along with new features Windows has got a new portion of bugs. June updates for Windows fix a critical vulnerability

Earlier in May, a serious vulnerability was found in Windows that allows running any app without users' interaction. It abuses Windows protocol associations. Opening a Microsoft Office document could be enough to compromise the device. This vulnerability has been dubbed Follina (CVE-2022-30190) and is know to be exploited by hackers.

Microsoft has quietly released a new variation of Windows 11. It is called "Windows 11 Validation OS", and is a console environment that allows IT Pros and system administrators to diagnose, mitigate, and fix various issues. So, it is something like a recovery environment.

Microsoft updates the Dev channel with Windows 11 Build 25140

Microsoft today released a new build to Insiders in the Dev channel. Windows 11 Build 25140. It comes with ISO images, so you can do a clean install of this build. How to remove “Learn more about this picture” icon in Windows 11

You can remove the "Learn more about this picture" Windows Spotlight Icon from the desktop in Windows 11 if you find its presence annoying. So you can keep Spotlight for serving your wallpapers, but without its icon.

Windows 11 Build 22000.739 (KB5014697) brings Desktop Windows Spotlight to everyone

Today is Patch Tuesday, so Windows 11 and supported Windows 10 versions are getting new patches. After enough testing, Microsoft is releasing Windows Spotlight for Desktop to everyone. Windows 11 build 22621.160 brings File Explorer tabs to the Beta channel

Microsoft today released a new build to Insiders running Windows 11 in the Beta channel. As you may already know, Microsoft keeps in Beta the RTM build of Windows 11 version 22H2. Microsoft is testing a taskbar search widget in Windows 11

Looks like Microsoft is testing various methods of simplifying users' access to online and local search in Windows 11. In the released version, the taskbar has a dedicated Search button. In some pre-release versions, there was a desktop search bar. Finally, in Windows 11 Build 25136 Microsoft added a search widget that appears in the bottom left corner of the taskbar. How to enable new File Explorer with Tabs in Windows 11 Build 25136 and 22621.160

Microsoft today officially announced that they bring up File Explorer tabs to Insiders in the Dev channel with Windows 11 Build 25136. But they are using a gradual feature roll-out, so not everyone see it after upgrading to that build. If you don't have the new File Explorer yet, follow the instructions in this build to enable them.
