Intel and Microsoft may be preparing for Windows 12

While Microsoft hasn’t said a single word about Windows 12, looks like it will be the next major version of the OS. As Microsoft mentioned several times, the future Windows releases will heavily use AI here and there. To be successful in this area, Microsoft needs support from its hardware partners, i.e. Intel and AMD. Microsoft officially recommends avoiding apps that restore classic features in Windows 11

Citing compatibility issues, Microsoft now officially recommends you to avoid StartAllBack and ExplorerPatcher. These two tools are famous for restoring classic features in Windows 11, such as Windows 10 Start menu, File Explorer with ribbon, the classic taskbar, and much more. A post on the Windows Health dashboard website advises you to install them to avoid Explorer crashes and boot loops. Windows 11 may soon allow you to hide date and time from the system tray

Well known Windows enthusiast @PhantomOfEarth has discovered a new work-in-progress feature  in Windows 11. Resources in the latest Dev build give a hint that Microsoft may add an option to hide the date and time from the taskbar. Microsoft has accidentally pushed Windows 11 upgrade offer to unsupported devices

Due to a bug, Microsoft has accidentally released the upgrade offer to Windows 11 for all devices, including those that do not meet its system requirements. Hardware without TPM, Secure Boot, and even Virtual Machines with a legacy configuration started to see the invitation to install the latest version of Windows 11.

Microsoft has added an extra option to leave the Windows 11 Beta channel

Insiders who run Windows 11 on the Beta channel, builds 22621.1325 and 22623.1325 can leave it until March 8, 2023. Windows 11 Build 22621.1343 ships all “Moment 2” features to Release Preview

Microsoft has released an update KB5022913 to Insiders in the Release Preview ring. It applies to Windows 11 version 22H2 and raises the OS version to Build 22621.1343. The update comes with plenty of new features that are slated for the Moment 2 release of Windows 11. Energy Recommendations, Studio Effects, an improved system tray, the touch-optimized taskbar, and several other features will become available after installing KB5022913.
