Windows 10 version 1803 may be postponed again due to another bug

As you may already know , Windows 10 Redstone 4 Build 17133 was highly expected to be the final release for version 1803 after it rolled out to Insiders on the Fast, Slow, and Release Preview rings in a short period of time. However, Microsoft had discovered a bug and the release was postponed. Instead, a new build, Windows 10 Build 17134, was released to Fast ring insiders. Unfortunately, there is  a new bug in the OS which can delay its release again.

Several Reddit users report that the "Set defaults by app" link is crashing Settings. It is easy to check out the bug yourself by navigating to Settings > Apps > Default apps > Set defaults by app > Set defaults by app.

Windows 10 Set Defauly By App

I cannot reproduce the bug on my Windows 10 Build 17134. In my case, everything works as expected. According to Neowin, at least one user said that the bug appeared after upgrading to build 17134; the bug also appears on French, Italian and English systems so it isn't language specific.

It is possible that it is a minor bug that can be fixed with a cumulative update, so Build 17134 could reach the production branch.

The bug can be found in the Feedback Hub under Desktop Environment > Settings > "settings crashes whenever I try to access any links in build 17634". It was posted by a Skip Ahead build user, however, other users running the Fast Ring build 17134 have upvoted it too.

You should upvote it if you are affected by this issue.

  1. Sadly in the latest release is the annoying bug that all apps in the start menu disappear after rebooting or awaking from sleep. If this build goes to rtm I’d be surprised
