Universal Skype app is finally out of preview

It's been more than a year since the first preview version of Skype's Universal Windows app was introduced. Earlier this March, Microsoft finally ditched the Skype Preview branding in one of the updated releases for Insider Program participants. After some additional testing, it's now available for everyone on Windows 10. The update is also bringing some new features to users of the production builds, including some calling and messaging improvements.

Skype UWP Preview 11.11.103.0 is out for Insiders

Microsoft has released another minor update for its still-in-testing Skype universal app for Windows 10. The new update, version 11.11.103.0, is currently available only to Windows Insider Program members in the Slow ring and should be pushed out for Release Preview and Production rings in the coming weeks.

Latest Skype Preview build is now available in the Slow and Release Preview rings

A few days ago, Microsoft started rolling out a new update for Skype Preview (UWP) app on Windows 10, which was previously available only to Windows Insiders on the Fast Ring. This update has introduced the Skype Translator feature to the app, allowing users from around the world to chat or call each other even if there's no common language they can speak. And today, this update has made its way to both Slow and Release Preview rings.

Skype Preview update adds link previews, drag-and-drop support and a few tweaks

A few days ago Microsoft pushed a new update for Skype Preview (UWP) for Windows 10. Even though it is in a Preview state, this version of Skype still lacks many features that are available for users on other platforms, but developers behind it are working hard to make it the best Skype experience on PCs. With the latest update, Microsoft is closing another gap, bringing features such as drag-and-drop and webpage previews to the Windows 10 version of the app.
