Skype for Windows 10 Updated

Microsoft has released another minor update for its Skype app for Windows 10. The new update, version 12.8.480.0, is now available in the Microsoft Store. Unfortunately, the app still lacks a number of features and visual elements available in Skype for Android and iOS.

Windows 10 Skype App

This version features the ability to set your presence to one of the following states:

  • Online
  • Away
  • Do not disturb

There are a few improvements made to the chat functionality.

  • You can delete a chat. Right-click the desired chat and select the appropriate command in the context menu.
  • You can mention people with the '@' symbol in group chats.

Finally, the taskbar icon has received some visual refinements.

As always, if you have automatic updates enabled in the Windows Store, this update should already be installed on your device. If not, head to its page in the Store and hit the update button. If you don't have Skype installed, you can also grab it from there.

  1. This update of 12.8*** is lacking the option to enable or disable updates, in your forums you indicate the following steps

    Tools
    Options
    Advanced options
    Updated ( On or off)

But on this 12.8** it has no this steps.

How do we turn on and off the auto updates, because it’s asking for admin user credentials every now and then for one to login.
