Skype for Linux Alpha 1.12 comes with hostless group calling

Microsoft has released Skype for Linux Alpha version 1.12. This new application is a completely redesigned Skype version which has nothing common with the previously available Skype 4.3. In this version, the application got improvements for group calls.

The change log for Skype 1.12 for Linux looks as follows:

  • Improved authentication process (Switch to Microsoft Account).
  • Enabled Hostless group calling - the group call can now continue when host leaves
  • Bugfixes and performance improvements.

  2. Download and install the appropriate package. Skype installing
  3. Open the apps menu and run it from there. Skype installed
