ShareX screen capturing tool is now available in the Windows Store

Windows 10 has more than enough options for making a screenshot with built-in features: from the recently introduced Win+Shift+S keyboard shortcut and Screen sketch in Windows Ink to the more traditional ones like Snipping tool and PrtScreen, Alt+PrtScreen and Win+PrtScreen hotkeys. However, some people prefer an integrated solution that handles everything from capturing, editing to sharing. There are, of course, dozens of third party Win32 apps and UWP apps for making screenshots on the web, but ShareX is one of the most popular options right now.

ShareX Tool Banner

ShareX is a free and open source program that lets you capture any area of your screen and share it with a single press of a key. It also allows uploading images, text or other types of files to over 80 supported destinations that you can choose from.

So if you are an active ShareX user, you will be happy to know that latest ShareX version is now available in the Windows Store, allowing you to install it from the same place as other apps without the need to download any installer packages. This also means that you will always be running the most recent version of the ShareX app thanks to the Windows Store's app auto update mechanism.

ShareX is more than just a screenshot tool, however. You can also record any action happening on your screen and export it to an animated GIF for easy sharing.

ShareX is available in the Windows Store as a free app. As you may have guessed, it's a classic Win32 app converted into a Store package using Microsoft's Desktop Bridge (Project Centennial). You can download ShareX from here or you can get its traditional desktop app installer from https://getsharex.com/.
