Security Updates for Windows 10, October 3, 2019

Microsoft is releasing a set of security updates to ship the Internet Explorer scripting engine security vulnerability (CVE-2019-1367) mitigation and correct a recent printing issue some users have experienced. Here are the updates.

KB4524147 (OS Build 18362.388) for Windows 10, version 1903

  • Addresses an intermittent issue with the print spooler service that may cause print jobs to fail. Some apps may close or generate errors, such as the remote procedure call (RPC) error.
  • Addresses an issue that may result in an error when you install Features On Demand (FOD), such as .Net 3.5. The error is, "The changes couldn’t be complete. Please reboot your computer and try again. Error code: 0x800f0950.”

The similar change log applies to the following patches:

  • KB4524148 (OS Build 17763.775) for Windows 10, version 1809
  • KB4524149 (OS Build 17134.1040) for Windows 10, version 1803
  • KB4524150 (OS Build 16299.1421) for Windows 10, version 1709

Older Windows 10 versions have also received the print spooler fix. They share the following note:

  • Addresses an intermittent issue with the print spooler service that may cause print jobs to fail. Some apps may close or generate errors, such as the remote procedure call (RPC) error.

The patches are:

  • KB4524151 (OS Build 15063.2079) for Windows 10, version 1703
  • KB4524152 (OS Build 14393.3243) for Windows 10, version 1607
  • KB4524153 (OS Build 10240.18335) for the initial version of Windows 10

To download these updates, open Settings - > Update &recovery and click on the Check for Updates button on the right.
