New Cortana is no longer Beta on the Store

Microsoft is about to roll out a new version of their Cortana digital assistant with Windows 10 version 2004. With the latest update, the app lost the 'Beta' tag in the app listing. This indicates that Microsoft has finished its development.

Cortana is a virtual assistant bundled with Windows 10. Cortana appears as a search box or an icon on the taskbar and comes with tight integration with the Search feature in Windows 10. Signing in to Cortana with your Microsoft account allows it to keep track of what interests you, save your favorite places to its Notebook, collect notifications from other devices, and sync your data between all your devices with Cortana enabled.

Cortana on Microsoft Store

The Store page notes the following key features:

Cortana, your personal productivity assistant, helps you stay on top of what matters and save time finding what you need. Simply type or speak requests in natural language to connect with people, manage your schedule, find a free hour, set a reminder, add a task, and more. You can also find local information, get definitions, and keep track of the latest news, weather, and finance updates.

For the best experience, sign in with your work or school account and try out these phrases:

· “Am I free at [time]?”

· “Find time with [person] to talk about [topic]”

· “Join my meeting”

· “Remind me to [task] at [time]”

· “Change the brightness”

By placing Cortana in the Store, Microsoft will be able to update it more frequently. Also, this can potentially give the end user the ability to install Cortana like any other Store app.
