Enable Multiple Tabs Selection in Mozilla Firefox

Firefox Nightly Icon

Many popular web browsers allow selecting and moving multiple tabs at once. You can use this feature in Google Chrome, Opera, and Vivaldi. However, Firefox users are out of luck. But here is a bit of good news - the team behind Firefox is working on adding the same feature to the browser. Interested users can already give it a try.

Modern versions of Firefox are  built with the new Quantum engine. They come with a refined user interface, codenamed "Photon". The browser now comes without support for XUL-based add-ons, so all of the classic add-ons are deprecated and incompatible. See

Thanks to the changes made to the engine and the UI, the browser is blazingly fast. The user interface of the app is more responsive and it also starts up noticeably faster. The engine renders web pages much faster than it ever did in the Gecko era.

As of the writing, the ability to select and move multiple tabs has already landed to the Nightly version of Firefox. So, if you want to check it out, download and install Nightly. Then, refer to the following article:

  1. Не работает. Всё равно вкладки перемещаются по одной. В контекстном меню только одна команда: “Закрыть выделенные вкладки”.
