Windows 10 version 1909 is known to be a small update released in the form of a service pack to Windows 10 version 1903 users with minor fixes and improvements. Microsoft says that the company is not going to repeat this experiment. They won't release more updates like version 1909.

Windows 10 version 1909, code named '19H2', is a minor update with a smaller set of enhancements focused primarily on select performance improvements, enterprise features, and quality enhancements. It is now officially known as Windows 10 November 2019 Update.

During a chat on Mixer, the Redmond software giant explained that they won't continue to release such small updates. Instead of releasing small enhancement packages like Windows 10 version 1909, the company will return to its major feature update issue practice. The company has clearly mentioned this:

Delivering the 19H2 feature update via cumulative update and an enablement package is  a pilot program. There isn't a formal plan in place to deliver future releases in the same way. We are closely monitoring feedback and hoping to learn from this type of release to help influence our future plans

The next feature update is 20H1, which is coming in Spring 2020. We are expecting to get it as a full-size build download.

      1. I don’t mind, because Windows 10 still needs a lot of work. Also updates can be delayed for another 6 months or so.

  1. Did I read here sometime back that 20H1 was to be released late december this year itself? Or was I MS dreaming?

    1. If they still follow the Azure schedule, then it is expected to be finalized at that time and general availability may follow later.
