Microsoft has finally announced the Windows 10 version 1803, which got named "April 2018 Update". Public rollout will happen on May 8, but it will be possible to download the OS manually starting April 30th.

Windows 10 version 1803, now known as April 2018 Update, will include features like Timeline, Focus Assist, a brand new Xbox Game Bar, Dictation and text suggestions for the physical keyboard, etc. Its complete change log can be found here:

The official announcement states the following:

With Windows 10, we’ve focused on delivering the most modern and most secure operating system. Since its initial launch, we delivered two updates with features designed to enable the creator in each of us. With our latest major release – the Windows 10 April 2018 Update – we want to give you back some of your greatest currency, your time. Our hope is that you’ll have more time to do what matters most to you –  create, play, work or simply do what you love.

As you may remember, Microsoft signed off Windows 10 RS4 in March 2018 and was about to release it in early April. Later, the company discovered a number of bugs in the OS, so the release was postponed.

Windows Insiders in the Fast, Slow, and Release Preview rings are already running the final version of Windows 10 version 1803, which is Build 17134. Other users can install it right now. If you are interested in installing it, see

At this point, if you are interested in leaving the Insider Preview program, you can safely stop receiving new builds. Windows 10 Build 17134 will receive a few cumulative updates before being pushed to the stable branch, then the Fast Ring will start getting "Redstone 5" builds. 1. Thanks for the news, but no, thank you, for Windows. Ubuntu 18.04 LTS looks so promising! GNU/Linux FTW!
