Linux Mint Installation Guide is Updated

The team behind the Linux Mint operating system has released an updated version of their installation guide. The document describes some important topics related to the distro and comes with a number of tips for smooth migration from other OSes.

Linux Mint is a very easy OS to install. Unlike distros like Arch Linux or Gentoo, it comes with a friendly step-by-step installer. All that is required is to enter your name, your PC name, your password and your location, and voila, the OS is installed on your computer.

However, there are some less obvious moments. For a newbie, it is hard to decide which edition to pick, how to deal with UEFI and dual-boot. These and tons of other questions are covered in this guide.

If you are not familiar with Linux or have not seen Linux Mint before, I recommend you to read the document. It will give you answers to many questions you might wonder about.

Three other guides are planned: An overview of Linux Mint, a developer guide and a troubleshooting/bug reporting guide. This new collection will eventually replace the old "Linux Mint User Guide".
