In the official blog post related to Windows 10 build 19033, Microsoft also revealed the official name for Windows 10 '20H1'. While most Insiders were expecting to have it named 'version 2003', Microsoft has decided to change it to 'Windows 10 version 2004'.
The official announcement states the following:
Eagle-eyed Windows Insiders will notice that that as of this build, 20H1 officially shows it is version 2004. We have chosen to use 2004 as the version to eliminate confusion with any past product names (such as Windows Server 2003).
Microsoft has finished the 20H1 development, so two recent builds do not include a desktop watermark. If you are a Windows Insider, you may have already noticed that newer builds do not receive new features, and include bug fixes and minor improvements only.
However, Windows 10 version 2004 will become generally available only in Spring 2020. Microsoft still has plenty of time to polish the OS and make its upgrade process as smooth as possible.

Hahaha. Very appropriate because Windows 10 is worse than Vista, which wasn’t even out yet in 2004.
I don’t find Windows 10, nor Vista to be bad. Once OEMs got off their lazy butts and started making drivers for it, it was fine. Windows 7 was mostly just a service pack with a new taskbar and a new name for marketing purposes.
They skipped Windows 9, to avoid ancient apps from treating it as Windows 95/98, so won’t this end up being treated as Windows 2000 or Windows XP lol?
