  1. Hello Sergey! I’m facing the error that i can’t launch from the desktop the personalization and resolution settings in Windows 10 RTM(build 10240) It says this: “ms-settings:display cannot be launched.” for resolution settings, and “ms-settings:personalization-background cannot be launched.” for personalization settings. I’ve wrote these both “links” into Edge and it worked. How i can fix it?

    1. This is exactly the same problem that I am having. Any help form someone would be greatly appreciated.

      Also, when I go to:

      %appdata%\Microsoft\Windows\AccountPictures

to delete my current profile picture there is no file, yet my profile picture still appears. Anyone have ideas as to what could be the problem?

  3. Hi. I am a person who live in South Korea using Windows 10. (My express may seem strange, but I hope you understand me because I am still a high school student.) Straightforwardly, I wanna know “How to make the account picture transprent”. I mean. When you upgrade to Windows 10 for the first time and start it, the account picture becomes transparent enough to see the photos behind the screen. You know what I mean? For your information, I made the first update of Windows 10. Though I am living in another country, I believe you give me definite and clear answers.

  4. It is not really converted to the default image. On sign in, unchanged profile pic appears translucent, mine is so opaque!!! Do you have a better solution??

  5. Thank you, it worked!

For anyone who, like me, is bothered by the fact that even after restoring the account picture, the previously set one still shows up on the “Your account” tab: go to “%APPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\AccountPictures”. Your previously used account pictures are stored there, just delete the ones you no longer want to see.
