Microsoft Movies & TV app updated in the Fast ring with AutoPlay feature

Microsoft has regularly updated its first-party apps shipping in Windows 10. After the introduction of an option to always play your videos fullscreen, the company is now adding the ability to automatically play the next video to its Movies & TV app that comes preinstalled with Windows 10.

Movies & TV is an app bundled with Windows 10. It is a replacement for Windows Media Center which was removed from Windows 10 and for Windows Media Player which is no longer being maintained or updated. Unlike Windows Media Center, the new app allows you to buy and play media content from the Windows Store. Deep integration with Microsoft's content delivery service is the main reason why the app was created and bundled with Windows 10. The application is available for Windows 10 and Windows 10 Mobile.

The new feature to autoplay the next video is pretty simple: if you have another video file in the same folder where you've opened the first one, after it ends playback, the Movies & TV app will automatically open the next file.

This update is only available for Insiders on the Fast Ring but will be rolled out to everyone else in the coming weeks. Previously added features to the app include the ability to always play videos in fullscreen mode and support for 4K/UltraHD content.

This update also includes other minor fixes and improvements, but Microsoft developers aren't detailing them in the release notes.

You're probably already using the updated version of the app if you're a Windows Insider and enrolled into the Fast ring. If you don't have the Movies & TV app installed for some reason, you can always download it from the Windows Store.
