Here is a list of known issues for Windows 10 build 10122

Yesterday, Microsoft made available a new build of Windows 10. Windows 10 build 10122 comes with several new improvements and features covered HERE. Additionally, they published the list of known issues which exist in the released version. I recommend you to read the list.

In the released Windows 10 build 10122 you might face the following issues and bugs:

  • If you’re using an AMD GPU you’re likely to run into frequent crashes in Microsoft Edge (still branded as “Project Spartan” in this build). Unfortunately, there is no solution for this bug.
  • Upgrading to this build on certain PCs may fail and roll back to the previously installed build with error 0x80070057 – 0x20007. This is a bug where too many device INFs are being migrated and hitting an internal limit. Possible workaround is to use Disk Cleanup to clean up system files and choose Device driver packages, Previous Windows installations and Temporary Windows installation files. You may also need to remove unnecessary peripherals and remove them from Device Manager and trying the upgrade again.
  • In this build there is a bug that may cause issues with Cortana speech. If you are experiencing problems with speech recognition, or are getting errors when trying to speak to Cortana, do the following:
    1. Launch the task manager by hitting CTRL + SHIFT + Esc
    2. Click "More Details" at the bottom of the window
    3. Scroll down to Background Processes and find "Search" in the list.
    4. Right click Search and select End Process.
    5. After a few moments (the search process will take some time to restart), please try using Speech with Cortana again.

That's it.

Privet! I’ve found a few issues in my working with the latest build, too. See my blog post from today entitled Reflections on Win10 Build 10122, where I explore some driver issues I encountered, and report that I was unable to launch applications or control panel elements from the Windows 10 Start menu (Start10 is working fine, however). Minor gotchas aside, though, this one looks pretty good to me, and I’m enjoying getting to know Edge (unlike the Windows Store/Metro version of IE, I can actually use it reasonably well).
