Windows 10 Media Creation Tool is a free tool released by Microsoft. It can also be used to download the ISO images of Windows 10 and create a bootable USB flash drive.

Windows 10 Media Creation ToolYou need to pick the option "Create installation media for another PC" and then choose the option "ISO file" to save the ISO file.

Tip: see how to create a bootable UEFI USB drive with Windows 10 Setup.

That's it.

Important note: If you have a genuine previous version of Windows like Windows 7 and Windows 8/8.1, you can enter its key during the clean install of Windows 10. Windows 10 November Update 1511 accepts keys from previous versions of Windows.

  1. The actual ISO images are now available without using the Windows 10 Media Creation Tool located at https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/techbench

So far the new update 1511 is working better than 10240 was. It’s faster shutting down, uses less disk space, no blue screens (so far) and less errors in the event viewer.

    1. So is there any way to verify if the Media Creation Tool will install the 1511 build 10586.3 before creating a bootable USB using the tool?

      1. @ Glenn : thanks, I didn’t remember this alternative (Tech Bench) to the Media Creation Tool.
@ Seymour Heiney : the Media Creation Tool will always download (thus install) the latest available Build proposed by Microsoft.

    1. You will be able to pick an option to save all your data if you will not perform the clean install. Instead, run setup.exe from the existing operating system.

  2. Thanks for the news. I used the TechBench link to download the ISO and used Windows USB/DVD Download Tool to create a bootable USB. First time all the drivers installed without a hitch for me. No more flickering black screen at boot up. But it seems with the new version 1511 build 10586.3 update, third-party visual styles (using UxStyle) are no longer working properly. I do hope there is a fix avaliable soon.

    1. There is another simple tool “UxThemeSignatureBypass”
      link http://www.glass8.eu/download.html
download and unzip to folder C:\UxThemeSignatureBypass\

content of *.reg file for x64 for run tool

      Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

      [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows]
      “LoadAppInit_DLLs”=dword:00000001
      “AppInit_DLLs”=”C:\\UxThemeSignatureBypass\\UxThemeSignatureBypass64.dll”
      “RequireSignedAppInit_DLLs”=dword:00000000

      [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows]
      “LoadAppInit_DLLs”=dword:00000001
      “AppInit_DLLs”=”C:\\UxThemeSignatureBypass\\UxThemeSignatureBypass32.dll”
      “RequireSignedAppInit_DLLs”=dword:00000000

copy past to notepad and save as *.reg file and apply.

      1. Hi du22y, I appreciate the effort, I followed your link and instructions, but unfortunately even after a system restart, the visual styles I normally use, still only changed part of the OS, changes wallpaper, some font colors and some background colors, but does change Windows Explorer any longer. Something must have changed in the new Windows 10 build 10586.3, I got my fingers crossed there will be a new UX patcher solution available soon.

It didn’t work for me, but if someone else wants to try, I uploaded both files to from glass8.eu VirusTotal, both files are clean.

        1. :) I just suggested to use simpler tool… It is better than UXStyle ;)
Sergey said correctly, you need to update the visual style that you use.

    1. Windows 10, the first item in the dropdown box, is the one you want. The 1511 ISOs contain both Home and Pro now, that’s why they aren’t listed separately anymore.

  3. The problem now is that It will not install the update. First, i created ISO and extracted it and tried to install it. it asked me for windows key both Windows 10 and windows 8.1 key didnt work. when i boot from USB and tried to upgrade it it tells me to restart computer remove the usb and start windows normally and to upgrade there. Didnt work.

  4. hi everyone,
can somebody help me please, I’ve tried to download the 64 pro version of the November update but I don’t know why it’s keeping to give me a blank page, I’ve tried via the iso link given by Sergei (see capture 1) and tried also via the Microsoft website download page and the result is the same : blank page … I thought it was a browser problem and tested the links in Mozilla firefox and google chrome and it keeps giving me blank page ?!

Blank Page (it’s like I refuses to load the content of the page, I keep refreshing it but nothing comes out)

Please i’m in need of your help…I was interested in the 64bit enterprise edition but it’s only an evaluation buil for 90 days furnished by MS, so a 64bit pro version of the November update will suit very well my needs

Thanks Sergei and all the other members

  5. Due to the fact that all download ways are not working anymore i’ve found a working site which provides valid links to the 1511 Isos (directly on MS)

    http://windowsiso.net/windows-10-iso/windows-10-th2-download-build-10586/

  6. What happens now if I want to do a completely clean install? Do I first have to run the Windows 10 usb and then run the 1511 update afterwards again? Or is it possible to get a new clean install usb iso that includes the 1511 update?

To clearify: I made the windows 10 upgrade clean install usb at the time when that upgrade came available when I had 8.1
